Charlie Shipton

Who remembers Charlie Shipton  ?
 Dear Ivor,
Congratulations on your web site. I found the attached photographs among my father's possessions when he died.
My father Charlie served from 1939-1946 and ended up as a Sergeant after seeing action in Boulogne  in 1940 and being wounded in Normandy 1944. in the 2nd Batt.Irish Guards I believe.
I would be interested to hear from anyone who might have known him. The Group photo of both Scots and Irish Guards taken at Bovington Camp is signed by dozens of people and may be
of interest to your site visitors. I am sure that this would be a good memento for any ex-guardsmen. - it is easy to lose this sort of thing over the years. I remember as kids we pinpointed our dad on the photo by filling in his cap badge with a biro - he is seated fourth from the left !!
Regards
Eric Shipton
