| "I am seeking information from anyone who knew Jack
Trippier from Lancashire, who served in 2nd Battalion Irish Guards during WW2
and was killed in action (in a tank, I believe) at Vire, Calvados, France, in
August 1944. He was about 21. He was my paternal Grandmother's elder brother and I am named after him. All our family records are now lost, I only have one photo of him, so fingers crossed that someone who fought alongside him sees this page. Long shot, I know, but you have had some success stories ! I am planning to go and see his grave this year, and the area where he fell alongside so many other Irish Guards". This is a really great site. Best to you
