For some time now I have been researching my family tree, I have
been trying to find out about one uncle of mine, I had an idea had been in
the army but although I was aware of him beeing around during the
second world war I have no recollection of him in uniform. It has just come
to my notice that members of the Irish Guards association visited him when he
was sick and they were represented at his funeral, so I have to assume that
at some time he was in the Irish Guards, I wonder if you could help me
verify the fact of him beeing in the Guards or not. His name was John French,
He was from the Wavertree district of Liverpool and was born on 6th
Dec.1908 and died in the Garston district of Liverpol on the 30th Dec. 1967.
I would appreciate any help you might give me. Regards, George Fox.

Hello Tim, I'm attaching a photo taken in 1936 of my uncle John French,
I still can't think of when he would have been in the Guards, of course
he could have been in when this was taken as this I think was taken at
a wedding.
Regards, George.
