HAMBURG - WANDSBEK

Estorff Kaserne, Hamburg-Wandsbek was re-named St. Patrick's Barracks when the Micks took over in 1946. Along with Bob Annison, Norman made a return visit in 1995. The following comparison photos show how little had changed over the years. Norman was lucky to have made the trip when he did because the barracks are about to demolished and the Germans are still arguing about what to do with the land. Some want a theme park, some want a media centre but whatever happens, the GermanWar Memorial, near what was the Officers Mess, will remain.
