Good Afternoon
My Grandfather served in the Irish Guards (we believe) during WWII and I am trying to track down any information I can regarding his time in the Army.
I have attached 3 photo's of him and his friends from the time. In the circular photo he is the one on the left, the soldier to the right was 'Geordie' Darling (only known as Geordie because he was from the Newcastle area).
I cannot make out the cap badge my Grandad is wearing in that photo though, perhaps you could offer some help? In the photograph featuring 3 soldiers he is the one standing. The soldier sitting front left does have the Irish Guards badge but I do not know what badge my Grandad is wearing.
I do know that he was drafted in to the B.A.O.R. in 1945 and was based at Belsen. Before this he had seen action in Arnhem.
If you can offer any help whatsoever I would be very grateful.
Many thanks
Jon Freeman
