My whole body tingled with pride
and emotion there wasn't a dry eye to be seen. My Son
who has just turned 18 hasn't been with the regiment
long and obviously I was worried sick that he was going
to war. In fact who expects them to go to war in this
day and age.All I can say is a big thank you to the
Officers and NCO's for looking after our young lads,
they have proved that the Irish Guards are one of the
finest Guards Regiments in the Country. It is an Honour
to have a son serving with such a fine regiment just
like his Grandad did before him. I have a photo of my
son and his mate in Iraq having a sleep next to a warrior
AFV They are both snuggled up together with their machine
guns readily to hand and the first thought into my head
was the Regimental motto "Who shall separate us".
I'm
so proud of them one and all.
My thoughts also
go to the parents and the families of the Lads who sadly
did not return.
God bless you
always.
Signed: Jimmy
Mccabe, who sent me the excellent
photographs.
