Inspired by my site, Peter Ruffle has designed this Website
Page as a tribute to his Dad
I am reproducing it here to show you what you
could do yourself.

IRISH GUARDS UK

My name is Peter Ruffle, youngest son of Clement Ruffle. My Dad served with the Irish Guards throughout the UK between 1940 & 1945 mostly in the Southern Counties at Pirbright, Caterham, Wool, and mostly at Hobbs Barracks Lingfield near East Grinstead. His roll throughout his military career was as a Driving Instructor attached to a Training unit. He often told me of his numerous narrow escapes and hair raising experiences with new recruits ... is there anyone out there with a similar story, or perhaps he taught YOU to drive!!! I only took an interest in family history a few years ago and recently discovered the attached squad photo.. do you recognize any of the names? |
